A senior politician with diabetes
Here in Britain our Home Secretary is Theresa May. She's recently been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
My attention was caught, because I wish Mrs May well and hope she gets good care. Also because until last year, she was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Women and Equalities. She wasn't very crip-friendly in her attitude to hate crime ( Read more... ) -

A most unpleasant story here about a group of teenagers in Lincolnshire who beat up an autistic girl and got off with just a warning for one of them.

This is in the news. Given what's happening to disability benefits now, and the way disabled people are getting talked about (scroungers, fakers etc) it strikes me that this murder is being reported as though every right-thinking person would be horrified by what these lowlifes did.
